ATV/UTV Safety Training
This online course teaches you how to safely and effectively use off-highway vehicles (OHVs) such as ATVs and UTVs. You will learn about the features and functions of these vehicles, the hazards and risks of operating them, and the best practices and procedures for different situations and conditions.
This course covers the following topics:
The parts and systems of ATVs and UTVs and how they work
The common causes and consequences of OHV incidents and how to prevent and report them
The steps and checklists for inspecting and starting up your OHV before and after each ride
The skills and techniques for driving your OHV on various terrains and challenges
The attributes and behaviors of responsible OHV operators
The methods and tools for loading and winching your OHV
The tips and guidelines for transporting and storing your OHV
The tasks and schedules for maintaining your OHV
This course offers 1.5 technical hours of continuing education units (CEUs) for the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) – Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD Program).
